The John Burroughs High School show choir season comes to a close this month, with one final competition in an awesome setting: Moonlight Amphitheatre in Vista, CA. It’s a gorgeous outdoor venue, set in the hills north of San Diego, with a big awesome stage. Great way to end a super-successful year of show choir guitar playing!
The day after the competition I fly to New York City for a jam-packed week of rehearsals for Selda and Derek’s show at the legendary Cutting Room. Looking forward to playing guitar with so many awesome singers and musicians. Biggest Selda and Derek show I’ve done to date and biggest show in New York. Super pumped!
I had a blast filling in for Celebration Theatre’s hit production of Priscilla Queen of the Desert this month too, one show on guitar and one show on bass. A fun new challenge to learn the entire show twice over on two different instruments, but I had a great time doing it. It’s a fun story of love and acceptance and a fantastic production overall. I’ll be back to close their three-month run on guitar next month as well.
And last but not least, my good buddy, tennis rival, and awesome singer Everjohn Feliciano once again enlisted me to help film an acoustic cover video. This time we took on Mr. Mister’s “Broken Wings,” with Jeremy Needleman on cajon. Erik Hall shot the video and Jenna Townsend directed. Super proud of the results!
Much more to come and to be announced for next month as well, so stay tuned!
